After the initial introduction to Antiquus' new album ELEUTHERIA, I
wasn't too impressed. I found the music trite and somewhat
boring. However, after additional spins, I began to appreciate what I
was listening to. The band's combination
of heavy and progressive metal hit you full force and before you know
it, has you mesmerized. Antiquus have found themselves with a rather
strong following and many
admirers with their epic soundscapes.
The band's sophomore effort is one that further pushes the limits that the band has already set around their debut RAMAYANA. With influences ranging from Sonata Arctica, Slough Feg, Into Eternity and SoulScar, Antiquus is a band that offers up hungry metal fans more than they're used to. If you're into progressive/power metal, this is a band definitely worth checking out. |
