I'll be the first to say it's almost impossible to convey just how good this release is - it's two plus hours of "Damned" music from the darkest corners of eerieville. Aside from the mind-blowing arrangements and song writing skills, the production is swank as hell; you just don't hear quality Black Metal like this very often in the underground. If you've enjoyed Celtic Frost, Boris and Darkthrone over the years this could very well be a new favorite, I know it's one of mine. The vox and music in the tune "Worship" is worth the price of admission alone. The band plunges you further into the depths on "Swing The Blade", "Down Into Blood" and "Sealing The Coffin". To call it a ghastly escape into the abyss is an understatement, this band truly knows what lies beyond oblivion. The same can be found on the Goat side of this release in the tracks "Deathshround", "Writhing", "Bury The Soul", "Nocturnal Goat" and "Submersed".

You think you know darkness, misery and pain - you know nothing. Azrael does a splendid job at enveloping you in a dismal fog, whilst releasing the tentacled beast who will drag you down to the smothering depths of the dark sea. By far, this is the best Black Metal release this year; Azrael understands the true meaning of Black, Damnation and Hypnotism - you'll never be the same once you've sampled Self/Goat.
