Bella Morte Bleed The Grey Sky Black [CD] By: Hydro |
Pouring out like fog from an inside the club we find Bella Morte back with a new release for those sorely unabashed ears. This being their 8th release called “Bleed The Grey Sky Black “we find the same old Bella Morte. Firstly I feel they could have pulled something a bit more creative with this title. They have fallen into the land of uber stereotypical goth. Luckily the music isn’t quite as humdrum.
The first thing I notice here is that Andy Deane doesn’t croon quite as much as he did on prior releases. Then again the last album of theirs I bought was the Death rock EP so I’m a few records behind. But none the less I’m trudging into this musical journey open minded and ready for the kill. Alas, most of the music presented is very mediocre to my auditory senses. I was expecting much more out of BM. There are some diamonds in the rough though. Their cover of “Earth Angel” is just perfect. Andy’s vocals are just amazing in this track. I’d say if they were going for the electro death rock feel they nearly nailed it with about half this album. As my friend Regan said about this album “Fruit at the bottom, waiting to be stirred!” and she was oh so right. You see the couple of stand out rocker tracks are near the end of the record. “As the Storm Unfolds” and “Bleed Again” are two of the better songs that Bella Morte has to offer to the music gods this time round. As a whole though I found this album a one listen deal. |
