Benea Reach

Monument Bineothan

[CD]

By: T.J.

Benea Reach's debut album MONUMENT BINEOTHAN is only a few weeks away from hitting the shelves here in the U.S. and for a lot of you experimental, atmospheric, metal fans, you'll want to make sure you get your hands on it. Featuring former Extol guitarist Christer Espevoll, Benea Reach brings forth a melancholic downpour of Meshuggah meets Mastodon song structures that if you like either of those bands, you will be chomping at the bit to experience it.

I won't lie. If you're not into the experimental or atmospheric side of heavy music, you might not go out of your way to pick this disc up. However, if you've been grinning ear to ear so far, oh yeah, you'll do just about whatever you can to make sure you're at the record store on March 6th. Benea Reach make an effort to land huge melodic, yet intricate guitar hooks all while marinating a doom laden structure that transports you from song to song carelessly.

Doom. Gloom. Meshuggah. Extol. Mastodon. Isis. Pelican. Intricacy. If any of those interest you in regard to your music, you'll undeniably want to get your hands on MONUMENT BINEOTHAN.
