BTM's debut for the label is entitled, Mechanics Of Dysfunction and make no bones about it, the album is as mechanical as it is heavy. Collectively, BTM comes across like fellow Canadians Cryptopsy does, playing a full on assault of Tech-Deth that pummels at every corner and nook of the album. The difference here being the structures and breakdowns are more decisive and played at an unheard of pace. Riffs and leads lash out at the listener from all angles at any given time. It's like walking through a field of landmines waiting for the inevitable. Sadly, the album does lack melody-wise, not unless you're a technical genius with the brain of Einstein, which I am not. What it lacks in melody it makes up for in velocity and brutality. You can't listen to one tune off this album without feeling you've been in a plane crash; it's dramatic, chaotic and uncomfortable at times. Vocally, the album is as brash and unrelenting as the music; growls and schizophrenic screams will quite frankly beat you to a bloody pulp.

When it comes to picking out standouts, I'm abit lost. Not necessarily, because I love each tune like it were my own, but it's like asking would you rather be thrown into a room full of pit vipers or a tank of tiger sharks. Either way, you're doomed to be torn to bits and that's the equivalent of each tune portrayed on Mechanics Of Dysfunction. Each and every song is different, but they all have one purpose and that's to annihilate the senses of all who enter into its sanctuary.
