Biohazard
Means to an End
CD

By: Black Angel

It's about time Biohazard released a new album, maybe it will take some of the press off of Evan Seinfeld's Porn career. Really, that's the only news I've heard about Biohazard for the last year or so. It's quite sad that a band of this caliber has had to take a backseat in the media because someone makes nekkid movies.. It's twisted, perverted and retarded. The newest release from the band will drop later this month, it's entitled, "Means To An End". Judging from what I'm hearing it doesn't sound like the band has created the biggest, baddest ever, but it will get you moving and shaking. In all honesty the bulk of Biohazard's material sounds the same to me. They have that AC/DC quality to them, the same music structure and lyrical content every time and much like AC/DC, it works for the band, so why change it? Hardcore fans may differ with that, but that's my opinion. I am damn glad to hear there is NO RAP on this disc.

"Means To An End" is a little over thirty minutes long and features ten brand new tracks. As I've already mentioned the same old Biohazard formula is present, you'll hear gang shouts and aggressive twin vocals about fighting against the man. "My Life, My Way" is a perfect example of this. The vocals of Seinfeld and Graziadei never cease to amuse me, you can tell the intensity in this song is heartfelt. The guitar riffs are also classic Biohazard. The intro to "Killing To Be Free" is very reminiscent to Sabbath's "War Pigs" but that is as far as it goes. The verses are straight-up hardcore, while the chorus breaks down into a jazzy, falling down carousel of violence. "Filled With Hate" has a great Metal vibe going and the rhythm section is slamming. The vocals also stand tall in this tune as does the lead break, which is something Biohazard has never had enough of. "Kings Never Die" is my favorite track off the disc . The music is ferocious and the lyrics are beyond fucking strong. The guitar riffs are heavy but they have that slick effect that cuts like a knife. This is a fist-pumping, head banging crowd pleaser for sure! The last song, "Set Me Free" is extremely heavy. It's layered with double bass kicks, thundering gang vocals and pumping bass lines. Yet it still has a nice melodic breakdown where you'll hear Graziadei screaming the words "Die" until he damn near passes out.

Biohazard hasn't broken the mold by any means, but I stress, this kicks ass! If you're a hardcore fan or remotely interested in the band, "Means To An End" is definitely worth picking up. Seinfeld and Graziadei always have and always will make sure, if the name Biohazard is on it, you can bet your ass, it's gonna be real and you'll feel it. Nice work!
