The Crimson Ghosts Conducted 06/05 By: T.J. |
Before being reanimated by your father the Zodiac, how did each of
you meet the end of your lives?
Monstrosity: The cops caught me in a dead-alley. Some of them wanted to bring me to jail but nearly most of those bastards wanted to kill me immediately. Well, facing the end I gave them my sweetest smile and tried to kill each and everyone…. until one of those guys shot me in the end. The last thing i remember was the smell of gunpowder and me standing in a pool of blood and smashed uniformed bodies. That's what i call a happy end!!!! Or a beginning??? Jackal: I was escaping from a lynch mob when I was trapped on a bridge. I wanted to jump into the river below, but I was shot while climbing over the balustrade. So I fell in the water unconscious and I drowned…..all I know about the Reverend and Vlad's death is that they were as well executed like a honourable serial killer should be! Who or what is your father-the Zodiac and why did he resurrect you? Jackal: The Zodiac was collecting souls for his afterlife at the end of the 70's. How many people he really killed is absolutely unclear and he was never caught. But he felt, his time has come and he needed even more souls. When he saw what music can do to people he resurrected us and gave us the abilities to play a kind of music which leads mortals directly into slavery. So, TJ – your soul already belongs to the Zodiac, hehehe! Monstrosity: Our father's mission on earth is done. Now it's on us to take his place and to cherish his name for all eternity. Living or dead, what would you say is the most interesting factor about producing music? Monstrosity: Music is the perfect medium to hurt and despise the people who deserve it. Besides that it's not to be sneezed that it's pretty cool to visit all the cemeteries in different cities/countries and play in front of living or undead maniacs who support us.
Jackal: Of course i want to tour as much as possible and spread the name of the Zodiac all over the world, showing the living why they should fear the night. Monstrosity: Our main goal is to infect as much people as possible with our music and to establish our band in the horrorpunk scene. Playing live is the most important thing for me. Why did your father name you as he has? (Jackal, Monstrosity, Reverend, and Vlad) Jackal: Actually he didn't! Our names were given by the public and the media, when they tried to give the unknown a name. That's how we were described once:
Vlad – The madman who believed, fresh human blood would bring
immortality, so he drank up some virgins.
Monstrosity: Being a part of a young label like Fiendforce is a good thing for us. Band and label grow together and the most important thing is, that we are in close contact with the owners of Fiendforce. Every question we have can be cleared with a phone call or a meeting. We've met our labelmates "Blitzkid", "The Other", "The Bloodsucking Zombies from Outer Space" so far and they are very interesting and kind guys but i don't think that our music and style is impressed by any of these bands. Jackal: I just can say THANK YOU to all the bands and people on Fiendforce, for keeping up horrorpunk and making it more than only a musical style! Who would win in an arm wrestling match: your father the Zodiac or Satan? Monstrosity: They're too old and too busy for arm-wrestling. They have their followers to care about these things. Well, if we represent the Zodiac and Satan uses Marilyn Manson…..i think the Zodiac wins. If the Crimson Ghosts could compare themselves image wise and music wise to any other band currently out there, who would it be and why? Monstrosity: Musically it's no secret that we were affected by The Misfits when we started, i think that anyone can hear that. But i also think that we're on a good way to consolidate our own music style. Jackal: Exactly, the more songs we write, the more one can see we go our own way, which is sometimes much more aggressive. Monstrosity: Hey! What the hell you mean with "image"? What do you think you are looking like, when being dead and locked in a tomb for years? Jackal: No shit!!! It's no fun for your skin, I can tell you that!!! Why did you name your debut album "Leaving the Tomb"? Was it show that you were leaving the tomb and coming to reek havoc on us all, or some other symbolism? Monstrosity: The title speaks for itself. Jackal: No hidden message or symbolism in it, it's just describing the moment when earth had to face us a 2nd time.
Jackal: It's about breaking through the barriers of death. Maybe you guys can answer an age old question for me since you would know the answer. Once dead, is there an after life, or are you rotting in the ground? Jackal: Forget all this hippie "there-was-a-light-which-I-was-walking-towards" bullshit…if pain is the last thing you feel when alive, you will feel it as long as you are dead. Only devouring brains can kill that pain by the way…. Since "Leaving the Tomb" is such a breakthrough success for the Ghosts, how do you plan to top it next time around? Jackal: Of course we cannot plan how to top our debut album, but it has to come out (un-) naturally of us. We have 6 new tracks right now and they are worthy to be followers to the tracks on "Leaving the Tomb". Monstrosity: We still have a lot of incidents to talk about and we won't stop that for a long time!! Are there any plans for you guys to play any shows here in the U.S.? Monstrosity: We surely want to play in the states. There comes so much positive resonance from the US people and there are so many good friends i wanna meet in person (once more) like the "Blitzkid" and the "Dirty Dead" guys, but there were no good offers to get us over there yet. Jackal: True, so if anyone is interested in getting us to the US, don't hesitate to get in contact with info@crimson-ghosts.de ! We won't bite…at first sight… |
